Orange Santa,

hello everyone, 

so i know this post isn't really craft based but please continue to read.

those who know me will also know i'm involved with a North west charity called Child flight having been a nurse on the orange team on the last trip. therefore i have decided to fund raise in a variety of ways, this includes sponsored run's including this years Santa dash. I wont be hard to miss!

after talking to lots of people not many know about this wonderful charity and therefore i have come up with a little creative idea to raise awareness. as Christmas is coming and we all send Christmas cards so i'm sending 50 cards to a variety of celebrity, from the north west or with relevance to the charity to raise awareness about this cause and hopefully also raise some support! 

this is something I've always wished to do anyway as part of an experiment on how many replies you would get etc, so will be very interested in the outcome of this.  

will update on the progress of this as i post out the letters ETC! 

UPDATE

All the letters were posted to 46 celebrity’s on the 7^th of December, why 46 I here you ask? Well the post office only had 46 stamps left… was going to send 45 but thought an extra on for good luck.  

Each letter has been personalised to each celebrity, and basically is asking to raise awareness for the charity, however nice it would be for them to donate either an item or their time to support this great cause, they all must get hundreds of similar letters for every charity going which is noted in the letter,  all letters have been sent to their managements address and to fan mail addresses.

I’ve talked to a few people about doing this and thought I would summarise the questions below:-

So what do I expect to achieve from this? Nothing

What would I like to happen? Support and vital funds are raised.

Do I expect people to respond? No but I would be very grateful if they did.

Who do you think will defiantly not respond? George Michael, Why? because I didn’t have his managements address and somehow writing George Michael London on it = little chance of it getting anywhere.  Well why send it? big fan of his and couldn’t have left him out.

How would it make you feel if they did? Overjoyed , even just a email acknowledging they have received it would make me happy, anything else is beyond expectations.

If a celebrity donated an item what would happen? Auctioned off with all proceeds going directly to Childflight.  Either though the internet or in a live auction.
